While working as a designer at Modern Species, I worked on the branding and packaging for SERIOUS Trash Bags, a sustainable household product.

The goal was to make sustainability feel bold, approachable, and easy to understand in a category that can often feel generic. The identity uses oversized typography, a strong color palette, playful messaging, and clear information hierarchy to help SERIOUS stand out on shelf while communicating its environmental impact.

I carried the brand across multiple packaging formats and sizes, balancing personality with the technical and production requirements of consumer packaged goods. The system was designed to stay consistent and recognizable while giving important product details and sustainability messaging plenty of visibility.

Salgado Lawn Care Services

I worked as a freelance designer with Mixed Change Agency to create the branding and website for Salgado Lawn Care Services, a family owned lawn care company based in Arizona.

The visual direction was inspired by the Arizona landscape and the idea of “Grass Roots, Family Roots.” I used earthy greens, warm desert tones, organic shapes, and playful graphic elements to create a brand that feels warm, trustworthy, and rooted in family while still feeling professional.

I carried the identity into the website design, using family photography and approachable layouts to tell the story behind the business. The site was designed to make it easy for customers to learn about the company, explore its services, and schedule a consultation.

Climate Collaborative

Social Media Campaign · Modern Species

While working at Modern Species, I created a social media campaign for Climate Collaborative encouraging people to vote with climate issues in mind.

I developed the campaign from copy to visuals, creating all of the illustrations, social graphics, animations, and GIFs. I turned the Earth into a playful character and used humor, movement, and cultural references to make climate messaging feel approachable, engaging, and easy to share.

The campaign combined playful visuals with a clear call to action, encouraging people to recognize the connection between voting and the future of the planet.

Kokora Life Regerated

Multi-page Look Book Design · Modern Species

While working at Modern Species, I designed a multi-page look book for Kokora, a regenerative lifestyle brand rooted in sustainability, thoughtful materials, and a deeper connection to the natural world.

The look book was designed to introduce the brand and its products through a clean, editorial experience. I worked with typography, photography, color, and layout to organize a large amount of content while maintaining a visual rhythm that felt elevated and connected to Kokora’s identity.

Across the pages, I balanced product information with lifestyle imagery and storytelling, creating a cohesive piece that could communicate both the products themselves and the larger world surrounding the brand.

Dr. Rodrigo Medellín: The Bat Man of Mexico

Event Poster Design · Oklahoma Natural History Museum

While working at the Oklahoma Natural History Museum, I designed this promotional poster for a public lecture featuring Dr. Rodrigo Medellín, internationally recognized as “The Bat Man of Mexico.”

I wanted the design to feel energetic and unexpected while still communicating the event information clearly. I used bold hand drawn typography, bright contrasting colors, textured imagery, and cutout photography to give the poster a playful, slightly punk inspired feel that stood apart from traditional academic event advertising.

The final design was created to grab attention across both print and digital spaces while highlighting Dr. Medellín’s personality and his work in bat conservation.

Eat Up!

VIP Influencer Package Design · Modern Species

While working at Modern Species, I designed a VIP influencer package for Eat Up!, a plant based, gluten free food brand.

The package was created to make receiving the product feel like an extension of the brand itself. I used bold typography, handwritten graphic elements, playful messaging, and Eat Up!’s bright visual identity to turn a simple shipping box into a memorable unboxing experience.

I designed the packaging with social sharing in mind, creating something that would feel fun to open, photograph, and share while keeping the Eat Up! brand recognizable throughout the experience.

Kekoa Foods

Packaging Production + Food Illustration · Modern Species

While working at Modern Species, I supported the packaging system for Kekoa Foods, an organic food brand focused on simple, vegetable based ingredients.

My work focused on production design and custom food illustration, creating illustrated fruits, vegetables, herbs, and ingredients used throughout the packaging. I worked within the existing brand system to make sure each flavor felt distinct while still belonging to the larger product family.

The illustrations combine texture, color, and hand drawn details to highlight the real ingredients inside each product, while the production work required consistency and attention to detail across multiple flavors and packaging variations.
